Travel prayer/Doaa
God
is Great, God is Great, God is Great. Glory be to Him who has subjected this to
us, and we could never have subdued it. And indeed, to our Lord we will return.
O God, we ask You in this journey of ours for righteousness and piety, and for
deeds that please You. O God, make this journey of ours easy for us and shorten
its distance for us. O God, You are the companion in travel and the guardian of
the family. O God, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, the gloom
of the sight, and the evil outcome of wealth, family, and children.
After Ihram
After Ihram
Talbiyah is one of the rituals of Hajj, and raising one’s voice during it is a manifestation of this great ritual. Among the Talbiyah of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him
peace:
- It was reported in the two Sahihs on the authority of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was: “Here I am, O Allah, here I am, here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Indeed all praise and blessings are Yours and the Kingdom, You have no partner.”
- It was also reported that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said in his Talbiyah: “Here I am, O Allah, here I am.”
[Sahih Ibn Majah No.: 2379].
It is recommended to say the Talbiyah when the pilgrim rides the car at the Miqat and to say the Talbiyah when heading to the sacred sites of Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah and in the sacred sites.
Upon entering the sanctuary/Al-Haram
Upon entering the sanctuary/Al-Haram
I seek refuge in God Almighty, and in His noble face, and His ancient power from the accursed Satan, in the name of God, and praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God, O God, forgive me my sins and open for me the doors of Your mercy
When seeing the Kaaba
When seeing the Kaaba
O Allah, increase this House in honor, reverence, respect and awe, and increase its honor and generosity for those who perform Hajj or Umrah, in honor, reverence and righteousness. O Allah, You are peace, and from You is peace, so greet us, our Lord, with peace.
This previous supplication was mentioned in a hadith, but the scholars weakened it. However, it was mentioned in Sunan al-Nasa’i with a sound chain of transmission - as al-Albani said - that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, climbed al-Safa until he looked at the House, and he said, “Allahu Akbar.” And in Sahih Muslim, it is narrated that he, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to al-Safa and climbed it until he looked at the House, and he raised his hands and began to praise Allah and supplicate as Allah willed him to supplicate.

Our Lord, give us good in this world and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
When ascending Safa or Marwa
When ascending Safa or Marwa
He recites the verse: {Indeed, As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever makes Hajj to the House or performs ‘Umrah - there is no blame upon him for walking between them. And whoever volunteers good - then indeed, Allah is appreciative and Knowing.} [Al-Baqarah: 158], then he says after that (I begin with what Allah began with), then he ascends As-Safa until he sees the Kaaba, then he faces it and raises his hands as he raises them when supplicating and says:
God is Great, God is Great, God is Great, there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent, there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, He fulfilled His promise, and aided His servant, and defeated the confederates alone.
When standing in Arafat
When standing in Arafat
Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.
My Lord, inspire me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do
righteousness of which You approve and make
righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You and indeed, I am of the
Muslims.
O Allah, bless me in my children and my family and guide them to the right path. O Allah, make them grow up to be good daughters and make them among the scholars, the workers, the guides, and the guided. O Allah, make our affairs easy and expand our chests and reform our conditions and protect us from the trials that are apparent and hidden and grant us sincerity in word and deed.
O Allah, we ask You for Your pleasure and Paradise and we seek refuge in You from Your wrath and the Fire. O Allah, make our end good in all matters and protect us from the disgrace of this world and the torment of the Hereafter. O Allah, let us enjoy our hearing, sight, and strength as long as You keep us alive and make it our heir and make our revenge on those who wronged us and do not let our enemies gloat over us.
When returning from travel
When returning from travel
He said the supplication for travel and added to it: We are returning, repentant, worshipping, and praising our Lord.
Tawaf
Tawaf
He says: Allahu Akbar when level with the Black Stone at the beginning of each circuit. If he adds with the Takbir Bismillah, he should say Bismillah and Allahu Akbar, which is good. This was proven from Ibn Umar, may God be pleased with them both. And he says between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone: “Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” And the circumambulator supplicates to God Almighty and remembers Him. And among the remembrances is reciting the Qur’an.
Sa'i
Sa'i
He says before Sa'i when he approaches Safa: “Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.” Begin with what Allah began with. So he faces the Ka'bah on Safa and Marwah at the beginning of each circuit and raises his hands in supplication and says Allahu Akbar three times and says: There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. There is no god but Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise and aided His servant and defeated the confederates alone.” Then he supplicates after that, then he says Allahu Akbar three times and says the remembrance, then he supplicates, then he says Allahu Akbar three times and says the
remembrance, so the takbir and remembrance are three times and the supplication is made between that twice. There is no specific supplication reported from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so he supplicates as he wishes. It was authentically reported on the authority of Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with him, that he used to say in his supplication: O God, You said: “Call upon Me, I will respond to you,” and You do not break Your promise. I ask You, just as You have guided me to Islam, not to take it away from me until You take my soul while I am a Muslim.
There is no mention or supplication between Safa and Marwa transmitted from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, but it is authentically reported from Abdullah bin Masoud, may God be pleased with him, that when he walked in the valley - now marked with lights and green marble - he would say: “O Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the Most Exalted, the Most Generous.”
Arafat
Arafat
It was authentically reported that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafat
and the best thing that I and the prophets before me have said is: ‘There is no god but God alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.’”
Al-Muzdalifah
Al-Muzdalifah
God Almighty said: {So remember God at Al-Mash`ar Al-Haram}. Al-Mash`ar Al-Haram is where the Muzdalifah Mosque was built. In the hadith of Jabir, may God be pleased with him, “The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, faced the qiblah, supplicated, glorified, and declared His oneness. He remained standing until it became very light.”
Jamarat
Jamarat
He says Allahu Akbar with each pebble, “Allahu Akbar.” He faces the Qiblah after the first and middle Jamarat, raises his hands, and supplicates.
Remembrance during the days of Tashreeq:
Remembrance during the days of Tashreeq: If one throws the pebbles at Jamrat al-Aqaba on the day of Eid, the time for the Talbiyah has passed, so he remembers God. Among the remembrances is the absolute Takbir. It was authentically reported from Umar, may God be pleased with him, that he would say Takbir in his tent in Mina, and the people of the mosque would hear him and say Takbir, and the people of the markets would say Takbir until Mina would shake with Takbir.
